NYC, New York, USA - Created by Nich “Silky” Jones and Julie “Trombroski” Dombroski, this beautiful music video was created in response to the quarantine measures being taken in New York City. After a series of lost gigs and work due to social distancing, these two incredible artists have created something really special and have definitely captured the current state of their city in a stunning and unique way.

Galway, IRELAND - The entire time I was creating this post, I was listening to Carly Z’s song The Void. I am OBSESSED. Originally from Dallas, Texas, but now based in Ireland, singer-songwriter Carly Z released this video and an entire album days before isolation began worldwide. Live Movie-Concert: “Right in the Eye”
Poitiers, FRANCE - This irresistible piece is pure magic! From the submission, which says it best: “Right in the Eye is a live concert designed as a soundtrack to a montage of silent films by George Méliès (1861 – 1938) considered the inventor of cinematography by the Lumière brothers. It is the musical brainchild of Jean-François Alcoléa who has created a magical show where a multi-layered, evocative and intricate score complements and interprets the otherwise silent films.

Mexico - Alejandro Escuer is a well-known and deeply talented flutist and artist whose work has been enjoyed internationally. He’s an award winning performer, a scholar, and an artistic director. His work has received acclaim by The New York Times, TIME Magazine Art Director, New Music Connoisseur, Classical Music Review, The Independent Music Awards, American Record Guide and personalities such as Karlheinz Stockhausen, Robert Dick, among many other specialists and personalities. And now he’s on our site! We are so glad to have him.

NYC, USA - Charlie Rauh is a touring musician based out of New York, New York. From his submission he says “I compose solo acoustic guitar music often inspired by my favorite literature - and decided to make a fully improvised EP conceptually based on the thought process of a character in one of my favorite books as a way to share immediate music during this difficult and uncertain time.”

Belgrade’s Ensemble Metamorphosis
Belgrade, SERBIA -Ensemble Metamorphosis performs contemporary music, as well as old music in new arrangements. The ensemble has given more than 120 premieres of contemporary pieces by Serbian composers and internationally renowned composers. In 2020, the ensemble was to celebrate its 15th anniversary. All concerts, guest appearances, festivals and tours are canceled because of COVID-19.

Cezanne Session Friends: A Magical Song
Madrid, SPAIN - Javier Monteverde has been producing, recording and mastering records with Cezanne Producciones for almost twenty years. This clever song is made entirely of Beatles titles. The musicians were about to launch and promote this song but these plans were canceled because of the need to save money during these uncertain times.
New Work at The Philadelphia Orchestra
Philadelphia, UNITED STATES - In honour of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, the Philadelphia Orchestra, in partnership with the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music, was set to perform four new compositions that were in conversation with the work of Beethoven. While some pieces, such as Iman Habibi’s Jeder Baum spricht (in the video above) were played to an empty house, others never got to be played at all. Composer and pianist Iman Habibi was he kind enough to send a video of his great work along to us.

If you’ve been to Granville Street, you know that there’s always some amazing music happening on the street. Since that can’t happen these days, the folks at the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association have figured out a way to bring those excellent sounds to your home.
Leandra Ramm Sings Bach
San Francisco, USA - Leandra Ramm is a remarkably versatile mezzo-soprano who has sung in such renown venues as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Centre. She was scheduled to sing in J.S. Bach’s Magnificat and Handel's Dixit Dominus with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra on April 4, but the performance was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Cipriano Ortega’s “Jizz Jazz”
Denver, USA - COVID -19 prevented Cipriano Ortega’s song series from being performed and filmed before a live audience. Instead, Cipriano has posted a rehearsal of his show: a political cabaret that is a musical commentary on the society we live in today. The main character Mr. Mundane, is thrown into a world of numb ritual and consequently looses his mind. This song ,”Jizz Jazz,” is a commentary on Cipriano’s relationship to prescription drugs and his own mental health.
