Consequences - RAWdance
San Francisco, USA - Now THIS video is EXACTLY what I dreamt of when I created this site! RAWdance, a dance company in San Francisco, had a trio of works postponed, but they have stayed creative and engaged as a company, creating a whole bunch of gorgeous dance videos, and continuing much of their great work. In addition to Consequences, they are also working on a larger series of work, ALL of which I am find absolutely extraordinary.

INTERNATIONAL - Heather Parcells, who was in the Broadway revival of The Chorus Line, shared with us this super inspiring and fun video, as well as the incredibly touching story of its creation. It’s sure to be EVERYWHERE on the internet in like ten seconds, so check it out!
Laneway Theatre's "Close Up Magic"
Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - From the submission: The Laneway Theatre is a secret venue custom-built for the performance of Close Up Magic. The owner, Tim Ellis, had just premiered a new, innovative show ‘OUT OF NOTHING, SOMETHING’ when Covid19 hit and shut the theatre down. Now, as a way to let other magicians know that we are not in this this alone, he set himself a mission to present a nightly chat show with some of the most famous magicians all over the world.
Belgrade’s Ensemble Metamorphosis
Belgrade, SERBIA -Ensemble Metamorphosis performs contemporary music, as well as old music in new arrangements. The ensemble has given more than 120 premieres of contemporary pieces by Serbian composers and internationally renowned composers. In 2020, the ensemble was to celebrate its 15th anniversary. All concerts, guest appearances, festivals and tours are canceled because of COVID-19.
Charlie Rauh - Lullaby Suite
NYC, USA - Charlie Rauh is a touring musician based out of New York, New York. From his submission he says “I compose solo acoustic guitar music often inspired by my favorite literature - and decided to make a fully improvised EP conceptually based on the thought process of a character in one of my favorite books as a way to share immediate music during this difficult and uncertain time.”
Art Matters Now
England - From the submission by Rory Williams and Christie Chan, curators of Art Matters Now: We are Art Matters Now a curatorial initiative currently run by a two-person team passionate about supporting emerging artists in the Tyne and Wear area, in the North-East of England. Our first public exhibition "Our Fragile Coexistence" was due to open on 20th March 2020 but, unfortunately, after 4 months of planning and work, we had to make the decision to postpone our exhibition and cancel our preview due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past two weeks, we have been working hard to bring our exhibition online through photographs and virtual experiences. On Tuesday 31st March, we finally finished creating our 360° Virtual Tour and have just released it to the public.
Family Fictions
Belmont, USA - This is a deeply cool exhibition that was showing outside of Boston until the need for social distancing led to its early closure. Artist Liz Albert sent along these photos of the exhibit, as well as a video of it that was made by the museum. Be sure to read what Liz had to say about it, because the conceit of this show is truly very intriguing!
New Work at The Philadelphia Orchestra
Philadelphia, UNITED STATES - In honour of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, the Philadelphia Orchestra, in partnership with the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music, was set to perform four new compositions that were in conversation with the work of Beethoven. While some pieces, such as Iman Habibi’s Jeder Baum spricht (in the video above) were played to an empty house, others never got to be played at all. Composer and pianist Iman Habibi was he kind enough to send a video of his great work along to us.
Empty Floor - imPerfect Dancers Company
Pisa, ITALY - Warning: moments in this video will cause your jaw to drop. This internationally renowned company had to cancel several performances on their tour schedule through Holland and Belgium. We are so grateful that they’ve decided to share this video with us. It’s a very captivating series of excerpts from their beautiful show Empty Floor.
BEAM 2020
This post contains the future of musical theatre! BEAM is the UK’s leading showcase for new British musical theatre writing, happening biennially. This two-day event, presented by Mercury Musical Developments and Musical Theatre Network, in partnership with Royal & Derngate Northampton, brings together presentations of around 35 new musicals in development, masterclasses, networking opportunities, and panel discussions. It’s a big deal, so you can imagine how disappointed folks were when it had to be cancelled.

The Chorus of the Dutch National Opera
Amsterdam, THE NETHERLANDS - Well here is an Easter long-weekend treat! Our dear friends at the Dutch National Opera sent us this gorgeous and moving video of their Chorus singing an Easter Hymn from Cavalleria Rusticana, all from their living rooms. This video transported me out of my tiny apartment for just a little while and made me think warmly of Easter dinner with my family, across the country. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

Ponnapa Prakkamakul
Boston, USA - Artists Ponnapa Prakkamakul is a busy artist who had a lot of work with exhibitions on the horizon. She opened up her portfolio to us, and we loved it so much that we couldn’t pick just one! Her work considers the environment, light, and space. It’s thoughtful and moving. You’re going to love it.
Visionary
Austin, USA - This is the definition of WOW. I was in a bit of a rush when I got this work-in-progress video, but took a peek out of curiousity… and then watched it to the end. It is worth being late for. Mind blowing.
CorpoMudança
Fortaleza, BRAZIL - This dance company in Brazil had planned to present this great work at the annual DFA Dance For All Festival in Cape Town, South Africa. Due to COVID-19, the future of this festival is uncertain, so they chose to share this piece, along with a documentary about it’s creation, with us!
(Virtual) Prairie Voices - Ilus Ta Ei Ole
Winnipeg, CANADA - We LOVE a choir moment, so we were thrilled to find this submission from the Artistic Director and Conductor of choir Prairie Voices, Geung Kroeker-Lee. This piece was set to open a festival, which sadly had to be cancelled. The music is stirring and beautiful, and it’s a pretty great editing job too! This is one of those videos that you hope keeps being made even after we’re allowed to go outside!
Chilina Kennedy
Canada and US - Chilina Kennedy is known for her incredible work on stages across Canada and the US, including playing Carole King in Beautiful on Broadway. She has been kind enough to send us a message of positivity, solidarity, and support to all the artists and art lovers out there... plus a little song at the end. Thanks so much for your contribution Chilina! It means a lot.
Liza Merkalova
Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - Artist Liza Merkalova worked on these pieces for over a year for the exhibition Apperceptions, which was to be held at Gallery M and feature 30 of her works.
