Beated Heart/Sister Heads/Textures
Toronto, CANADA - Each of these pieces from multidisciplinary artist, Jet Coghlan, have a subtext of hope. Hope that we’ll treat ourselves better, hope that good will emerge from the bad, and the hope intrinsic in seeing a familiar city through a different set of eyes. Leaf through this submission and move through the rest of your day slightly changed.
From the Artist: “Beated Heart” is a performance piece that had to be done outside instead of the gallery at McMaster University Museum of Art due to Covid 19. This piece speaks about the visceral feelings we carry and the self flagellation that occurs when we are not kind to ourselves.
“Sister Heads” is an audio story that speaks of the world prior the fall of Capitalism. This piece is part of an ongoing speculative fiction story and can be accessed through a QR code that was supposed to be tag all over the city. The hole project is on hold now until lockdown is lifted.
“Textures” is a play of 3D and GIF images. These are part of an installation where the textures will be mapped into different object and surfaces. This project is also on hold as there is no places to showcase the textures.
