Rodrigo Simões
Montreal, CANADA
From the artist, Rodrigo Simões:
My name is Rodrigo Simoes, a musician/composer based in Montréal, Canada. Last 14th February I released a videoclip at Résonance Café. A video recorded during 2019’s summer. I was about to promo it on all platforms trying to have some exposure in order to book/plan ahead future concerts when Covid19 starts knocking out our doors. Everything was canceled or postpone.
So, the video had no impact at all. A project that I’ve been planning since last spring.
I was able to finish the production stage with the help of Factor funding, but the last stage, the promotion itself was deeply affected. Everything is uncertain and I don’t know when I’ll play Jazz brésilien project again. Together with me are four musicians who are not gonna see those potential gigs.
In the middle of a ball, a man and a woman meet and start their romance with a few dance steps.
This Latin jazz theme composed by Rodrigo Simoes comes from Brazilian forró influences like Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos, Hermeto Pascoal and Hamilton from Holanda.
