“Wherever we are we live our lives fully. We meet people who change us. We work. We study. We nurture new relationships. We sometimes win and sometimes loose. But after all, we are left with plenty of memories and stories to tell.” This is why Debora Rubin created the Traveling Books Project; to collect handwritten real life short-stories at different locations. Now, she is inviting you to join her project by connecting and sharing your stories by writing them on paper, and sending them to her through the mail. She intends to publish a book with some of the stories in the future. 

This project came to life back in 2017, when Debora was laid off from her job. It was a difficult time for her, what led her to decide to leave everything and everyone behind and move to a smaller and more affordable town. There, she found space and time for retrospection, and immersed in the silence is where she found inspiration to create Traveling Books.

There is something special about the power of grabbing a pen and writing by hand. It is not about how well we write, but about the person who is behind the words and the sentences that express emotions. We can hear the excitement, the love, the secrecy, and even the sorrow; and these emotions are what really connect us all. “
