Susanna Fournier is a theatrical force of NATURE. Her work is powerful, thought provoking, and fearless. Her newest work, always still the dawn, was commissioned by Canadian Stage, and set to premiere this Spring, until it was cancelled. From the submission: FOUR SISTERS is a podcast written by Susanna Fournier, a sonic rendering of play that showed last year at the Theatre Centre as part of the Luminato Festival. It's a timely piece, and one just released, by an ascendant feminist voice in Toronto's independent theatre community. The play explores how gender and class impact a marginalized family in a time of plague and political crisis-- this feels particularly appropriate for this moment where precarious workers, artists, caregivers and service workers, will be the hardest hit by social distancing.
