For 34 years, The University of British Columbia’s Creative Writing Program has presented the Brave New Play Rites Festival, which premieres new plays written by students in the program. This includes 10 full productions, 8 staged readings, and 2 Grad readings! That’s TWENTY NEW PLAYS. This submission, written by UBC grad and Jessie Award-winning playwright Leisl Lafferty, is an excerpt from one of the Grad readings that was supposed to premiere at this year’s Brave New Play Rites Festival, March 17-22 in Vancouver.
