Lights Out is about accepting love.

NYC, USA - This submission, sent by dancer Busola George, is a gorgeous rehearsal video of a piece that’s all about accepting love, whether it’s love from others or love for yourself. Important subject at a time like this, where suddenly relationships seem to matter a whole lot more than that promotion. I was captivated by Busola’s movement, the intricate choreography, and the emotion of the piece.

From Busola: I am a member of Long2 Dance, the second company of Artistic Director Vanessa Long, based in New York City. We were scheduled to have our final showcase March 15th, 2020 where we would showcase all of our group pieces (one of which I choreographed) as well as our respective self-choreographed solo's. We held on for as long as we could, until the day before, when our director decided we should not go on with our showcase due to the current pandemic and the safety and comfort of everyone; therefore our show was cancelled the evening before we were supposed to perform. I have attached a video of the solo piece I was supposed to perform (debut) that night. This video was a rehearsal I was having for myself and I taped it for notes and work-shopping, so this is not the best version of my piece, but the most recent video version that I have, as I have not had access to rehearsal space or a gym.
