Charlie Rauh

New York City, USA - Charlie’s music blessed the Festival fairly early on in the pandemic, and I’ve been a HUGE fan ever since. He’s prolific, kind-hearted, warm, and immensely talented. I was also so happy to have him as a part of Long Distance Art, for which he composed a gorgeous piece of music. I highly recommend following him on social media - you’ll be treated to a regularly-updated stream of beautiful instrumental music.

From Charlie:

This past year was difficult, as well as inspiring. I lost all of my work as a touring musician, which was my main income for the past decade. However, I was fortunate to have amazing people around me and managed to pivot into a new trajectory of remote session work, producing, and online teaching that has become a sustainable and rewarding new life. I feel fortunate that nobody close to me has been lost to covid, and my friends who have contracted it have recovered/are recovering fully. I also feel very grateful to be vaccinated as a teacher here in NYC, and I hope to get back to in person work and travel as safety allows in the very uncertain future. Social Distancing Festival was the first outlet I was able to find for my own art during quarantine, and I am extremely grateful for all the work and support offered to me and the other artists through it!

I have a new EP coming out that was recorded remotely between NYC and Nashville with close friends of mine, it can be preordered at this link (out worldwide on March 12th - exactly one year from when quarantine began in NYC)
