Kuchipudi Dance Drama - The story of Chandalika the untouchable, a scene with bangle sellers.

The story is written by the famous Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore to bring social reform during the times.

In this scene, the bangle sellers are trying to sell their wares. They describe their colorful bangles that attract many people, as many stars in the blue skies. Chandalika (the protagonist with life's simple hopes and dreams) enters the scene to ask for bangles. As she is about to take them, the rich upper-class women point out that she is untouchable. Together they shun her and throw stones at her. She begs and please but the stone hits her and she bleeds. This is a scene from a 2-hour long drama with a 35 member cast.
